We are formulating a planned trip to Italy. Lisa travelled to Italy when she was 21 and again when she was 35.
We will land at the Marco Polo airport in Venice, then Florence and finally the Amalfi Coast.
Our plan is to travel light and utilize the buses, trains and boats effectively to make our way in an enjoyable fashion.
May, June and July the months we are considering.
Our trip begins at the Austin International Airport, then to Chicago and then to Venice. Once in Venice we take the Alilaguna boat to San Marcos station.

- In the town of Amalfi, my faves are da Gemma on the terrace just up from the duomo), da Zaccaria literally on the water, on the outside of the tunnel on the road south to atrani), and for modern food and the best wine list in town, la Caravella.
- Positano
In the town of Positano, my faves are Capitano, high above the sea, and Chez Black, right down on the sea. The restaurant in the Hotel le Sirenuse is quite tasty, if slightly Americanized. (Skip the San Pietro at all costs, where American faux heiresses and trust fund travelers abound.)
